Wilson Chandler’s eleven days are almost up
Eleven days ago Wilson Chandler Tweeted “11 days”. He was referring, of course to today’s NBA trade deadline, the date by which the reluctant Nugget hopes to have found a new hope. The clock is ticking and the rumors are swirling but still nothing has taken place. Chandler remains shackled to his situation in Denver.
While it’s not up to him whether or not he is dealt today, it’s best that he be gone. The Nuggets don’t need a guy who hates being here skulking about the locker room pissing and moaning about minutes. The Nuggets should find a package that works, sending off Chandler and Timofey Mozgov as well. Perhaps they won’t find a pot of gold but they don’t need these guys in the rotation right now. Best to build for the future if not improve right now.
Besides, after all he’s done for the Nuggets organization, doesn’t Chandler deserve to be somewhere where he can start – like Charlotte, for example? Or maybe Washington? Perhaps a team in China would be interested in him. Chandler seemed happier playing there.
