The Colorado Avalanche need a new coach. According to the good people over at Mile High Sports web, the scuttlebutt seems to be that the team is looking at four prospects: Dave Tippett, Lindy Ruff, Guy Boucher and good old Patrick Roy.
We want ROY!
The Hall of Fame goalkeeper and Avalanche legend lacks the NHL coaching experience of the others and would have some learning to do whilst on the job. He would certainly be fired up and fun to watch stewing in the box, though. Wouldn’t he?
Sports is entertainment. Roy is entertaining. He’s a perfect fit for an organization so desperate to bring people back into the arena that it has been turned over to a former player with no experience as an NHL General Manager. So why worry about Roy’s experience? Damn the torpedoes. Get the band back together.
