Ubaldo Jimenez nailed Tulo with a baseball.
During today’s Rockies Spring Training game VS the Cleveland Indians, Jimenez hit Troy Tulowiski with the first pitch he threw to him. The two former team mates exchanged words and, according to Troy Renck of the Denver Post, both teams’ benches cleared.
Tulo had contributed to the emerging rivalry between the two players by telling reporters essentially that Ubaldo should stop talking about his bitterness toward the Rockies and move on.
Jimenez told Tracy Ringolsby earlier this Spring that he had not been too pleased to see the Rockies handing out contract extensions and that he did not receive one.
Tulo’s war of words with Ubaldo ultimately resulted in the errant pitch heard around the Rockies today.
The Rockies and the Indians will not face each other in the regular season.
