2014 will be a landmark season for the NBA. The migration of superstar players will be like nothing the league has ever experienced before. A massive list of free-agents to be includes Lebron James, Carmelo Anthony, Paul Pierce, Rudy Gay, Pau Gasol, Amar’e Stoudemire, Andrew Bogut, Chris Bosh, Kobe Bryant, Ricky Rubio, Luke Ridnour, Vince Carter and Thabo Sefolosha.
Naturally, players will conspire and agree to head off together for destinations like New York, Boston and LA. Your Denver Nuggets are not likely to be contenders to sign any of the big name guys …. unless ….

It’s an open secret that as many as 75% of NBA players smoke pot. The league technically doesn’t allow it, but only it’s a wink-and-a-nudge policy. Only complete idiots actually get in trouble for pulling bong loads in the NBA.
Nuggets may be the key to improving the Nuggets and giving them a realistic shot at an NBA title.
The team needs to begin an underground recruitment campaign, making sure that prospective 2014 free agents understand that they can puff with impunity if they come to Denver. Heck, scouts should hand out samples of the good stuff being grown here.
Before now Denver didn’t have the type of culture to attract big name ballers. But now, with pot tourism becoming a reality here, why not make THAT the draw? It even fits with the team name perfectly.
Naturally, this is not something Denver would want to do in the open, but there’s no reason that they couldn’t be using Colorado’s pot law to make the state more appealing behind the scenes.
