The Broncos will open next season to sweet redemption
It was simply meant to be that the Broncos would start the 2013 season right where they left off in 2012 – at home versus the Baltimore Ravens. The game was supposed to have taken place out East but, thanks to the stubborn Orioles, Baltimore is forced to travel back to the Mile High City to open the NFL season on a Thursday night. Super Bowl winners typically open their seasons at home. Baseball and fate have other plans for the Black Birds.
The Broncos move the needle. With Peyton Manning as their quarterback they’re America’s team and America will be cheering for them to defeat the World Champs on September 5th. We love tales of redemption. That night the Broncos will have an opportunity to treat viewers to a large dose of it. And, since the game is set for early September, it should be warm outside. Peyton, Champ and Rahim should have the nerve to go out there and show the world why they were heavy favorites back on the 16th of December.
What a way for the season to begin. As if Broncos fans weren’t already lucky enough living in the greatest city in the greatest state in the union, they’re going to be given a golden opener to launch what should be a Super Bowl season.
