Rockies offense must help Moyer get his win

Colin D. | April 17, 2012

Rockies pitcher Jamie Moyer takes the mound again tonight to try and break an 80 year old record.

The last time a pitcher as old as 49 year-old Jamie Moyer was credited with a win was in 1932. His name was Jack Quinn and he played for the Dodgers of Brooklyn.

Major League Baseball has a million records. They’re all tough to break.

For Jamie Moyer to break Quinn’s he’s going to need run support – and probably plenty of it. The Rockies bats must provide that support.

It would be really cool if Moyer could break that record tonight. Say what you will as to whether or not the old guy should be a part of the Rockies starting rotation. He is one.

This is an instance where fans need to set their skepticism aside and just pull for the guy. He’s ours. He IS a Colorado Rocky. Let’s yell and scream for him and root him on to a win.
