Reviewing our week five NFL picks VS the spread

Colin D. | October 8, 2013

Tony Romo will tell you that it doesn’t matter how much you shine if you wither at the wrong moment. He will also tell you that it’s tough to predict how a football will bounce.

The same can be said of the National Football League and week five was a fine example of that. Some favorites covered, but many underdogs did, too. It was a very difficult week to make money gambling on the league. Luckily, our annual NFL Pickoff VS the Spread is for entertainment purposes only.

In week five our contest leader, me, managed to go 5-9 against the spread. Producer Scott Stafford did the same, while John Reidy and our Buddy Snyder each went .500 with records of 7-7.

Now, for the season, the contest is tightening up. I still lead at 43-30-4. Stafford is in 2nd place at 39-34-4, Reidy is one game behind him at 38-35-4 and Snyder continues to wipe up the rear at an attroucious 28-45-4.
