With Both 104.3 the Fan and 102.3 ESPN airing nationally syndicated programming in the AM post-drive time slot (9-12), leaving it devoid of local voices, the brain trust at Mile High Sports Radio (FM93.7 AM1510) has moved quickly to shift its lineup in response. Being locally owned and managed has its advantages.
Beginning Monday, Mile High Sports Radio will shift the popular Press Box with Mark Kiszla, Peter Burn, Oren Lomena and Brandon Krisztal into the 9-11 slot. The move puts MHS’s heaviest hitter on opposite the Dan Patrick Show on the Fan and the Herd with Colin Cowherd on 102.3 ESPN.
The Press Box will follow Drive Time with Eric Goodman and Mike Pritchard (7-9 AM), which moves from afternoons.
The Brandon Spano Show, which only moved to the 9am slot two weeks ago, will shift again, this time to 2-4 PM, following Gil Whitely (11-noon) and Irv and Joe (noon-2).
The afternoon drive slot from 4-6 now belongs to Danny Williams and Marcello Romano who, although they are an acquired taste, do (inexplicably) have a loyal listenership. The two yucksters will have their hands full competing with the Locker Room with Nalen, Kreckman and Gary Miller on 102.3 and the Drive with Big Al and Dmac on 104.3 the Fan.
These changes represent the second major reshuffling of the programming at Mile High Sports in just the past couple of weeks. It won’t be the last. My sources tell me to expect more news soon from the little station that could.
