Radio Row: Altitude 92.5 made a power move, brought in Dmac
I’m not going to say I didn’t see this coming. I did.
Denver Sports Radio listeners were stunned in late September when 104.3 the Fan cut loose several popular hosts; the most notable of whom was long-time drive-time stalwart Darren “Dmac” McKee. Even more surprising was that, a couple weeks later, it was revealed that Altitude Radio 92.5 was suddenly the top sports talk radio station in the market. This had been the Fan’s claim to fame seemingly since the beginning of time.
Now, after a very short stint without a terrestrial gig, Dmac has achieved the inevitable. He has joined the talented crew at Altitude. We had a feeling this was going to happen. Perhaps it was thanks to a knowing wink when Dmac joined us on the Fancast for Show 300. He will the third wheel on the new Hastings, Polumbus and Dmac, weekdays noon to 3. The show will follow Dempsey and Company which will follow the morning drive program, Moser, Lombardi and Kane.
Hats off to the Kroenke Men at Altitude for making the easy decision to bulk up their lineup with one of the most popular voices in Denver sports over the past decade. It’s a powerful lineup. And congratulations to Dmac, who has always been a friend of the Fancast.
