Our week thirteen NFL picks VS the spread
We have been having a great time picking every NFL game VS the spread this season. A couple of our pickmasters are above .500. I couple of others aren’t. We’ve seen a few lead changes and things have tightened up a bit recently.
The contest in entering its stretch run, although we intend to pick right through the Super Bowl.
Here’s how we see the games unfolding in week thirteen
Green Bay @ Detroit (-6)
This woulda, coulda, shoulda been a killer match up but stupid Aaron Rodgers had to go and break his collarbone so now the Lions, who have a proud tradition of sucking on Turkey Day, get to face Matt Flynn instead.
Colin’s Pick: Detroit -6
Reidy’s pick: Detroit -6
Snyder’s pick: Green Bay +6
Scott’s pick: Detroit -6
Oakland @ Dallas (-9.5)
The Cowboys are scrambling to keep the Eagles at bay after looking like they were a lock to win the East. The crappy Raiders come to town on Thanksgiving looking to remain relevant in the AFC.
Colin’s Pick: Oakland +9.5
Reidy’s pick: Dallas -9.5
Snyder’s pick: Oakland +9.5
Scott’s pick: Oakland +9.5
Pittsburgh @ Baltimore (-3)
The Steelers were left for dead just a few weeks ago but are suddenly back in the race for the AFC North. This division tilt will help decide who keeps chasing the Benglas in the division and who starts planning golf outings.
Colin’s Pick: Pittsburgh +3
Reidy’s pick: Pittsburgh +3
Snyder’s pick: Pittsburgh +3
Scott’s pick: Pittsburgh +3
Tennessee @ Indianapolis (-4.5)
The Titans are the sixth seed in the AFC as I type this, which is ridiculous. On Sunday the Colts can slap them back to reality.
Colin’s Pick: Indianapolis -4.5
Reidy’s pick: Tennessee +4.5
Snyder’s pick: Indianapolis -4.5
Scott’s pick: Tennessee +4.5
Kansas City VS Denver (-4)
The Chiefs have a shot at re-establishing themselves as the class of the AFC West with a home win against the Broncos. Sadly for the Chiefs it’s not December yet so the Broncos have a shot.
Colin’s Pick: Denver -4
Reidy’s pick: Denver -4
Snyder’s pick: Denver -4
Scott’s pick: Denver -4
Jacksonville @ Cleveland (-7)
Yes. The Jaguars actually play the Browns this week. Try to contain your excitement.
Colin’s Pick: Jacksonville +7
Reidy’s pick: Cleveland -7
Snyder’s pick: Cleveland -7
Scott’s pick: Jacksonville +7
Tampa Bay @ Carolina (-8.5)
The Bucs have rattled off three straight wins and are suddenly not awful. They have found “lightening” in a bottle with Mike Glennon. But they face Cam Newton this week which is never good.
Colin’s Pick: Tampa Bay +8.5
Reidy’s pick: Tampa Bay +8.5
Snyder’s pick: Carolina -8.5
Scott’s pick: Tampa Bay +8.5
Chicago @ Minnesota (-1)
The Vikings are favored over the Bears. I repeat. The Vikings are favored over the Bears.
Colin’s Pick: Chicago +1
Reidy’s pick: Minnesota -1
Snyder’s pick: Minnesota -1
Scott’s pick: Chicago +1
Arizona @ Philadelphia (-3.5)
The Eagles come back from their bye to greet the Cardinals who look really solid, Carson Palmer or no Carson Palmer.
Colin’s Pick: Philadelphia -3.5
Reidy’s pick: Philadelphia -3.5
Snyder’s pick: Arizona +3.5
Scott’s pick: Philadelphia -3.5
Miami @ NY Jets (-1.5)
It’s a bit odd that the Jets are favored by such a small margin over the visiting Dolphins. Vegas must not like terrible quarterbacks and coaches with fetishes.
Colin’s Pick: NY Jets -1.5
Reidy’s pick: Jets -1.5
Snyder’s pick: Jets -1.5
Scott’s pick: NY Jets -1.5
Atlanta @ Buffalo (-3.5)
The Bills aren’t great but the visiting Falcons are awful – easily the most disappointing team of the 2013 season. They may not win another game.
Colin’s Pick: Buffalo -3.5
Reidy’s pick: Buffalo -3.5
Snyder’s pick: Buffalo -3.5
Scott’s pick: Buffalo -3.5
St Louis @ San Francisco (-9)
The Rams have been a bit of a surprise this season but they can’t get too far with Kellen Clemens at QB. The Niners are the Niners. They’re probably going to play in the NFC Championship game.
Colin’s Pick: St Louis +9
Reidy’s pick: St Louis +9
Snyder’s pick: San Francisco -9
Scott’s pick: St Louis +9
Houston VS New England (-7.5)
The Texans’ best bet at this point is not to win another game. Tom Brady and the Pats are beginning to look like Super Bowl candidates again.
Colin’s Pick: New England -7.5
Reidy’s pick: New England -7.5
Snyder’s pick: New England -7.5
Scott’s pick: New England -7.5
Cincinnati @ San Diego (-1.5)
This should be a pretty good game against two pretty evenly matched teams. Sa Diego is still in the playoff picture.
Colin’s Pick: Cincinnati +1.5
Reidy’s pick: Cincinnati +1.5
Snyder’s pick: San Diego -1.5
Scott’s pick: San Diego -1.5
Washington VS NY Giants (-1)
After this weeks MNF game it’s not hard to understand why the Giants are favored to go on the road and win this week.
Colin’s Pick: NY Giants -1
Reidy’s pick: NY Giants -1
Snyder’s pick: NY Giants -1
Scott’s pick: NY Giants -1
New Orleans @ Seattle (-6)
It’s the game of the week! A possible NFC Championship preview as the Saints come marching in (see what I did there?) to Seattle.
Colin’s Pick: New Orleans +6
Reidy’s pick: New Orleans +6
Snyder’s pick: Seattle -6
Scott’s pick: New Orleans +6
