Our week nine NFL picks VS the spread

Colin D. | October 31, 2013

With six teams on the bye again this week the slate of NFL games looks pretty rough. There’s really not a single truly good one on the schedule. There are, however, some pretty strange lines. Our pickers are all over the map this week.

Here’s how they see it going down.

Miami VS Cincinnati (-2.5)
Don’t look now but the Bengals are shaping up to be a top team in the AFC. Maybe Hard Knocks wasn’t so bad for them after all. Speaking of Hard Knocks, the Dolphins were featured on the program last year This week they host Cincy, hoping to hang around in the East.
Colin’s pick: Cincinnati -2.5
Reidy’s pick: Cincinasty -2.5

Snyder’s pick: Miami +2.5

Scott’s pick: Cincinnati -2.5
Atlanta @ Carolina (-7.5)
It’s hard not to feel sorry for Falcons fans. They keep waiting for their team to reach its potential and it just hasn’t happened. This week Matt Ryan brings his downtrodden squad to Carolina to face the surprising Panthers.
Colin’s pick: Carolina -7.5
Reidy’s pick: Carolina -7.5

Snyder’s pick: Atl +7.5

Scott’s pick:  Carolina -7.5
Minnesota @ Dallas (-10.5)
The Vikings are having a season to forget. Just when it looked like things could not get worse they have to go to Dallas to face an angry Cowboys team that lost in gut-wrenching fashion in week eight to Matthew Stafford and the Lions.
Colin’s pick: Minnesota +10.5
Reidy’s pick: Dallas -10.5

Snyder’s pick: Minnesota +10.5

Scott’s pick: Dallas -10.5
NY Jets VS New Orleans (-6)
The Saints look good and are improving as the season rolls on. The Jets are the opposite. They raised eyebrows early but are degrading back to the team folks thought they would be. The Bengals beat them last week 49-9. Ouch.
Colin’s pick: New Orleans -6
Reidy’s pick: New Orleans -6

Snyder’s pick: New Orleans -6

Scott’s pick: New Orleans -6
St. Louis VS Tennessee (-3)
The Titans are road favorites as they head into Missouri to meet up with Kellen Clemens and the Rams who gave Seattle a scare on Monday night.
Colin’s pick: St. Louis +3
Reidy’s pick: Tennessee -3

Snyder’s pick: St. Louis +3

Scott’s pick: St. Louis +3
Buffalo VS Kansas City (-3.5)
Nobody circles the wagons like the Buffalo Bills. Can they circle the wagons and take down the only undefeated team in the NFL in Western New York on Sunday? Broncos Country will be behind them, that’s for certain.
Colin’s pick: Kansas City -3.5
Reidy’s pick: Buffalo +3.5

Snyder’s pick: Buffalo +3.5

Scott’s pick: Kansas City -3.5
Washington VS San Diego (-1)
The Bravehearts continue their AFC West tour this week, welcoming the Chargers who are coming off the bye and looking very much like a candidate for a Wild Card.
Colin’s pick: Washington +1
Reidy’s pick: San Diego -1

Snyder’s pick: Washington +1

Scott’s pick: San Diego -1
Philadelphia @ Oakland (-2.5)
The Eagles are back to Foles again after rushing Michael Vick back too soon. Now they head into the Black Hole, which is a place nobody wants to be.
Colin’s pick: Oakland -2.5
Reidy’s pick: Oakland -2.5

Snyder’s pick: Oakland -2.5

Scott’s pick: Oakland -2.5
Tampa Bay @ Seattle (-16)
There are the road Seahawks and there are the home Seahawks. This week we get the home ones – and they get the Bucs – and hopefully not MRSA.
Colin’s pick: Tampa Bay +16
Reidy’s pick: Seattle -16

Snyder’s pick: Seattle -16

Scott’s pick: Seattle -16
Cleveland VS Baltimore (-2.5)
The Browns are home in week nine to take on their division rivals in the champion Ravens who are coming off their bye week and hoping to get back in the chase with Cincy.
Colin’s pick: Baltimore -2.5
Reidy’s pick: Baltimore -2.5

Snyder’s pick: Cleveland +2.5

Scott’s pick:  Baltimore -2.5
Pittsburgh @ New England (-6.5)
Somehow the Patriots have been awful and still are 6-2. As bad as they have been, though, the Steelers have been even worse. It might be time for Pittsburgh to rebuild, but not before they head into Foxborough week nine.
Colin’s pick: New England -6.5
Reidy’s pick: New Englands -6.5

Snyder’s pick: New England -6.5

Scott’s pick: New England -6.5
Houston VS Indianapolis (-2.5)
The Colts are slight road favorites visiting Casey Kasem and the Houston Texans.
Colin’s pick: Indianapolis -2.5
Reidy’s pick: Indianapolis -2.5

Snyder’s pick: Indianapolis -2.5

Scott’s pick: Indianapolis -2.5
Chicago @ Green Bay (-10.5)
This Monday Night match up might have been a gem if the Bears hadn’t lost Jay Cutler for several weeks.
Colin’s pick: Green Bay -10.5
Reidy’s pick: Green Bay -10.5

Snyder’s pick: Green Bay -10.5
Scott’s pick: Chicago +10.5
