Our week 14 NFL picks VS the spread

Colin D. | December 10, 2010

It’s week 14.  The regular season is winding down, the Fantasy playoffs have begun and our prognosticators are deadlocked once again.  Here’s how they see it going down VS the spread.

Indianapolis @ Tennessee (+3)
Peyton Manning 2010 is Jay Cutler of 2009 all of a sudden, throwing
the ball to the wrong team over and over again.  How the mighty have
fallen.  Speaking of the mighty falling, will Jeff Fischer keep his
job after this year?  If not I can think of a team that might want to
give him a look.

Colin’s pick:  Indianapolis – 3  Reidy’s pick: Tennessee +3

Jacksonville VS Oakland (+4)

John Madden says that Jacksonville is the most under-rated team in the
NFL.  Meanwhile, Oakland can’t make a commitment to suck on a weekly
basis.  Who knows, if the Raiders could down the cats in this one they
could still content for the AFC West title.

Colin’s pick:  Oakland +4  Reidy’s pick: Jackoffsonville -4

Pittsburgh VS Cincinnati (+8.5)
A good old fashioned AFC North showdown – or an embarrassing disgrace
of an NFL game – which will this one turn out to be?

Colin’s pick:  Cincy +8.5  Reidy’s pick: Cincy +8.5

New England @ Chicago (+3)
The Pats must be pretty good if Vegas has them 3 point favorites over
the white-hot Bears at Soldier field. Remember, Jay, your guys are the
ones with the letter C on the side of their helmets.  Good Jay or bad
Jay?

Colin’s pick:  Chicago +3  Reidy’s pick: New England -3

Buffalo VS Cleveland (+1)
Neither of these of these teams are all that good or all that bad.
It’s a battle of the mediocre.

Colin’s pick:  Buffalo -1  Reidy’s pick: Cleveland +1

NY Giants @ Minnesota (+2)
Brett Favre insists that he will go ahead and play this week despite
being an injury to his everything.  The only thing that’s unbroken on
the oldster is his ego.  The Vikes are slight home dogs to the better
Manning’s team this week.

Colin’s pick:  Minnesota +2  Reidy’s pick: Minnesota +2

Green Bay @ Detroit (+6.5)
Drew Stanton actually played pretty well last week – good news for a
team that goes through QB’s like dixie cups.  The poor Lions will
still find a way to lose every game.  It’s just in their DNA.

Colin’s pick:  Green Bay -6.5  Reidy’s pick: Green Bay -6.5

Atlanta @ Carolina (+7.5)

Are the Falcons good enough to go deep into the playoffs?  This game
will get us no closer to answering that question.

Colin’s pick:  Atlanta -7.5  Reidy’s pick: Atlanta -7.5

Tampa Bay @ Washington (+2)
I want to like the Bucs but something just ain’t right with that team.
Too many injuries.  The ‘Skins are a mess, too.  At least they locked
up their horrible QB for 5 more years.  Rather watch soccer.

Colin’s pick:  Tampa Bay -2 Reidy’s pick: Washington +2

New Orleans VS St Louis (+9)
The Saints offense is clickin’ and the Superbowl Champs are in post
season form.  They host one of the NFL’s emerging teams in the Rams
who are battling for a playoff spot in the NFC West.

Colin’s pick:  St Louis +9  Reidy’s pick: St Louis +9

San Francisco VS Seattle (+4.5)
Will the winner of the NFC West finish over .500?  Let’s hope so.

Colin’s pick:  Seattle +4.5  Reidy’s pick: Seattle +4.5

NY Jets VS Miami (+5.5)
The Jets return home after getting all-out schooled by the Pats on
Monday night to face Chad Henne and the up-and-down Miami Dolphins.

Colin’s pick:  NY Jets -5.5  Reidy’s pick: NY Jets -5.5

Denver @ Arizona (+5.5)

A nice, soft place for Eric Studesville to land.

Colin’s pick:  Denver -5.5  Reidy’s pick: Denver -5.5

San Diego VS Kansas City (+7)

Matt Cassell probably won’t play for KC which is a shame because the
Chiefs have a golden opportunity to send the Chargers packing.

Colin’s pick:  San Diego -7  Reidy’s pick: San Diego -7

Philadelphia @ Dallas (+3.5)

The Cowboys are a home dog to the hated Eagles.  Sparks will fly.

Colin’s pick:  Dallas +3.5 Reidy’s pick: Dallas +3.5

Baltimore @ Houston (+3)
The Ravens can help get Gary Kubiac fired so that he can come here to Denver.

Colin’s pick:   Baltimore -3  Reidy’s pick: Valdemort -3
