Our week 11 NFL picks VS the spread

Colin D. | November 19, 2010

Colin has come catching up to do in his annual duel with Reidy for NFL picking superiority. He’s down by a single game. Here’s how the boys see it going down in week 11.

Miami VS Chicago (+1.5)
The Dolphins will trot out their third-string QB, Tyler Thigpen, this week in their battle with the NFC North leading Chicago Bears.  The Bears are nowhere near as good as their record would indicate as signified by the fact that they aren’t favored in this game.
Colin’s pick:  Miami -1.5  Reidy’s pick: Miami -1.5

Pittsburgh VS Oakland (+7)
Oakland comes out of their bye to travel to Pittsburgh and face an angry Steelers club who had their asses handed to them by the Pats in week 10.  The Raiders sit atop the AFC West at the moment.  If they are to retain their perch a win will be needed here.
Colin’s pick:  Oakland +7  Reidy’s pick: Pittsburgh -7

NY Jets VS Houston (+7)
The Texans appear to be well on their way to yet another disappointing season.  They will probably miss the playoffs and Gary Kubiac will not get off his hot seat. Conference losses are the last thing they need. Unfortunately, their secondary is so awful that it could make Mark Sanchez actually look decent.
Colin’s pick:  NY Jets -7  Reidy’s pick: Jets-7

Baltimore VS Carolina (+10)
You have to feel badly for the Panthers.  They are super-awful.  This week they placed Deangelo Williams on Injured Reserve where he can chill with QB Matt Moore.  The kitties host the Baltimore Ravens, bonafide contenders, this week.
Colin’s pick:  Baltimore -10  Reidy’s pick: Valdemort -10

Tennessee VS Washington (+7)
Hey, the Redskins may suck but at least they know that their broken-down old QB has a new 5-year deal.  Jesus.  The ‘Skins are not noted for stopping mobile black Quarterbacks like Vince Young and that Eagles guy.
Colin’s pick:  Tennessee -7  Reidy’s pick: Tennessee -7

Dallas VS Detroit (+6.5)
Vegas doesn’t know what to do with the Cowboys after they went into NY and smacked the Giants around.  Weren’t they going to quit?
Colin’s pick:  Detroit +6.5  Reidy’s pick: Detroit +6.5

Green Bay @ Minnesota (+3)
I’m going to make a prediction:  This will be Brett Favre’s last game as a pro.  He’ll give it everything he’s got VS the Pack and then call it quits.
Colin’s pick:  Green Bay -3  Reidy’s pick: Green Bay -3

Cincinnati VS Buffalo (+5.5)
The Bills finally got their first win.  They can stop trying now and just wait for that #1 pick in 2011.  Shame of it is – they aren’t bad.
Colin’s pick:  Cincy -5.5  Reidy’s pick: Cincy -5.5

Jacksonville VS Cleveland (+1.5)
Oh, Payton Hillis.  Everybody’s favorite honky.  This week he brings his act to Jacksonville to face the Jagwads who snagged the NFL season’s most exciting win last week.
Colin’s pick:  Cleveland +1.5  Reidy’s pick: Cleveland +1.5

Kansas City VS Arizona (+8)
The Chiefs are a little butt hurt after what happened to them in Denver last week.  They should play well at Arrowhead.  There is a very good chance they can get their division lead back if only they can beat the Cardinals – who suck balls.
Colin’s pick:  Kansas City -8  Reidy’s pick: Kansas City -8

New Orleans VS Seattle (+11.5)
The Seahawks have been pretty decent at home – awful on the road. They could be entering the Superdome without Matt Hasselbeck.  That would be very bad.
Colin’s pick:  New Orleans -11.5 Reidy’s pick: New Orleans -11.5

Atlanta @ St Louis (+3)
Matty Ice and the Falcons pay a visit to Missouri this week to meet Stephen Jackson and the surprising Rammies.  St Louis has a real shot at winning the NFC West and going to the playoffs. They lost to the ‘Niners last week so they will need this one.  Too bad the Falcons are so good.
Colin’s pick:  Atlanta -3  Reidy’s pick: Atlanta -3

San Francisco VS Tampa Bay (+3)
The Bucs are one of the big surprises in the NFL.  The ‘Niners are attempting to overcome their horrific start.
Colin’s pick:  Tampa Bay +3  Reidy’s pick: SF -3

New England VS Indianapolis (+3.5)
This is easily the AFC game of the week.  Old pals Peyton Manning and Tom Brady take center stage in a game with far reaching playoff implications.
Colin’s pick:  Indianapolis +3.5  Reidy’s pick: New England -3.5

Philadelphia VS NY Giants (+3)
Did you SEE what the Eagles did to the Redskins?  That was on the road.
Colin’s pick:  Philadelphia -3  Reidy’s pick: Philadelphia -3

San Diego VS Denver (+10)
The Broncos can restart the playoff conversation with a less-than-likely win in SD.
Colin’s pick:  Denver +10  Reidy’s pick: Denver +10
