Our Divisional Round NFL picks VS the spread with guest picker @krissibex

Colin D. | January 10, 2014

There are not a whole lot of games left for our pickers in the annual South Stands NFL Pickoff VS the Spread. After the Divisional Round there are two Championship games and one Super Bowl. That’s it. So, with the top three in our contest bunched closely together, this week is crucial.

We invited internet sensation @KrissiBex to join us this week.

Here’s how the fellows (and gal) see it going down.

New Orleans @ Seattle (-8)

Vegas loves the one-seeds this week. The Seahawks have been fantastic at home this year and they are coming off a restful playoff bye to host Drew Brees and the Saints on Saturday afternoon. New Orleans snuck past the Eagles to make it do the divisional round and the odds makers aren’t giving them much of a chance at advancing to the title game.’

Colin’s pick: Seattle -8

Reidy’s pick: New Orleans +8

Snyer’s pick: New Orleans +8

Scott’s pick: New Orleans +8
Krissi’s pick: New Orleans +8

Indianapolis @ New England (-7.5)

The Saturday night game brings Andrew Luck to the greater Boston area to confront Tom Brady and his banged-up squad. Vegas is giving the Colts a little more than a touchdown in this one. In the NFL you can’t be the best until you beat the best.

Colin’s pick: Indianapolis +7.5

Reidy’s pick: New England -7.5

Snyer’s pick: New England -7.5

Scott’s pick: Indianapolis +7.5
Krissi’s pick: New England -7.5

Carolina VS San Francisco (-1)

The 49ers are very slight favorites on the road versus the Panthers in the Sunday morning game. This one features to bright young quarterbacks and two dynamic defenses. It should be a low scoring, exciting struggle for both clubs.

Colin’s pick: Carolina +1

Reidy’s pick: San Francisco -1

Snyer’s pick: Carolina +1

Scott’s pick: San Francisco -1
Krissi’s pick: San Francisco -1

San Diego @ Denver (-9.5)

The odds makers say that the Broncos are big favorites on Sunday afternoon yet the national media seems to see things differently. Of course the media isn’t in it for the money. If the Broncos play their game this one should be a blowout – but there is always the possibility that they won’t.

Colin’s pick: San Diego +9.5

Reidy’s pick: Denver -9.5

Snyer’s pick: Denver -9.5

Scott’s pick: Denver -9.5
Krissi’s pick: Denver -9.5
