Nalen on the NFL: “If i’m dead they don’t have to pay”

Tom Nalen is kicking ass and taking names as a sports radio talk show host. He’s really, really good. And he doesn’t exercise extreme caution when it comes to the things he says. Nalen is openly critical about many aspects of the National Football League and he isn’t afraid to let the league have it with both barrels.

Something Nalen said today takes the cake.

On his noon-3 show on 102.3 ESPN which he co-hosts with Les Shapiro Nalen made the assertion that the NFL would prefer that players die as soon as they retire so that the league doesn’t have to care for them anymore. Post-career health problems create costs for the NFL and, from Nalen’s perspective, the league would prefer that former players just drop dead.
