Making fun of the Broncos isn’t fun anymore

Colin D. | November 29, 2010

As a spurned fan of the Denver Broncos I have resorted to making fun of them all season long. Now it’s not fun anymore. Josh McDaniels s making it too easy.

Josh McDaniels has been as easy target for my jabs ever since he took the helm as head coach of the Denver Broncos. Even when he was winning in the beginning he was acting like an idiot, pumping his fists, bolting down the sidelines and engaging San Diego linebackers in verbal altercation. He’s been anything but professional. I’ve never liked him.

Now things have become dark. To poke fun at him now is kind of sick, like teasing the developmentally disabled kid in the lunch room or tripping a blind guy. The situation has turned from kind of funny to downright sad. McDaniels and his regime have brought the Denver Broncos organization to it’s knees. Now they aren’t just bad – they are really bad – and they are cheaters, too.

Denver has lost 16 of its last 21 games under McDaniels. All-pro talent has been traded away for nothing. Draft picks have been squandered.

The future is so dark that we need night vision goggles just to catch the blurry visage of any future potential. We’re in the basement of the AFC West, below lowly Oakland, with no evidence of anything improving. Fans are calling for Josh McDaniels head. IF he is fired, though, we are right back to square one – completely directionless. A new coach would need time – at least a couple of seasons – to introduce his new system, especially in light of the fact that labor strife looms. Even if the league steers clear of a lockout there is bound to be some interruption of off-season activities.

Where do we go from here? It looks like it might be a very, very long time before the Broncos are relevant again. I would say that 5 years is optimistic. There are too many holes to fill – the largest being Head Coach – for the organization to be turned around any sooner than that. It’s a dismal situation.

I love my Denver Broncos. I hate this coach and I hate the situation he has put them in.

No respect at all.
