Let’s all donate some money to the Jessica Redfield Sports Journalism Scholarship Fund
We all know what happened in Aurora a year ago, so let’s not belabor it.
Our community will never fully heal, however one of the victims lives on through the Jessica Redfield Sports Journalism Scholarship Fund.
We should all donate some money to it.
What the fund does is “endow scholarships to help send up-and-coming sports talent to reach their dreams through the field of sports journalism.” It gives one aspiring female sportscaster the opportunity to fill Jessica’s shoes and to have a chance to live out her dream.
The first recipient of the Jessica Redfield Sports Journalism Scholarship was Christine Williams, a senior at Elion University. Christine would like to become a reporter for ESPN and, with the help of the foundation, she is one step closer. Each donation to the foundation keeps a little piece of Jessica Redfield alive.
