It turns out that not all of Josh McDaniels’ Denver Broncos draft picks are busts. During Sunday’s Wild Card tilt with Pittsburgh, three of them were crucial to Denver’s victory: Tim Tebow, Demaryius Thomas and Robert Ayers. Others, including David Bruton and Zane Beadles played roles, too. Of course, that’s to say nothing Alphonso Smith, Darcel McBath, Knowshon Moreno, JD Walton and Perrish Cox, none of whom made an appearance.
But that’s beside the point.
Josh McDaniels could have drafted Jesus Christ and he would still be a dick.
McDaniels was arrogant, stubborn, mean and unethical. He was standoffish with the media, disrespectful of the fans and rude to to everyone at Dove Valley from the assistant coaches to the grounds keepers.
He belongs in Boston with the king of the asswipes, Bill Belichick.
Yes, he went out on a limb to draft Tim Tebow who is as beloved a sports figure as the world has ever seen – and we respect the moxy it took to do it. Unfortunately, that moxy is exactly who nobody likes him outside of New England.
Even a blind squirrel finds a nut sometimes, as the saying goes. The fact that a McDaniels draft pick hit a McDaniels draft pick on a long bomb in overtime to allow the Broncos to advance to the Divisional round of the AFC Playoffs does not mean that anybody made any kind of mistake by letting him go.
He never belonged in Denver to begin with.
