Kroenke Sports Enterprises and the management of the Colorado Avalanche must know something that fans don’t.
They warned us that Joe Sacco would be back next season despite failing to get his team into the playoffs for two straight years. Today they erased all doubt by inking a two-year contract extension, according to the Denver Post.
He must be pretty awesome.
Apparently the team sees something in Sacco. Most guys who’s performances have been as lackluster as his have worry about losing their jobs. Sacco doesn’t have to. The Avalanche either beleive that he is the right guy for the job or appreciate the fact that he works cheap. Maybe it’s both.
Avalanche fans have been hoping for a change. They’re not going to get one anytime soon. All that is left to hope for now is that Sacco was retained because he is close to turning the corner with his team – and that it’s actually true.
