Former Rockies broadcaster Charissa Thompson will replace Michelle Beadle on ESPN’s ‘Sports Nation’

Covering the Rockies for regional cable TV has been one heck of a career launcher for a few folks. Charissa Thompson, who held the mic for Fox Sports Rocky Mountain before it became Root Sports, will replace Michelle Beadle on ESPN’s ‘Sports Nation’ with Colin Cowherd. Beadle is making her ESPN exit at the end of this month.

Thompson handled the same duties as Alanna Rizzo who was recently called up by the MLB Network. The job is now held by the striking Jenny Cavnar. Who knows what kind of sweet gig she might end up with as a result.

Thompson can currently be found on ESPN’s ‘Numbers Never Lie’. The Sports Nation gig will dry up relatively soon. Colin Cowherd plans on killing the show after this season. Regardless, the opportunity is a mammith one for Thompson.
