The CU Buffs are on the road to health. Interim coach Brian Cabral is undefeated and the kids are all smiles – even the son of the guy who just got canned.
CU has won two in a row under Cabral, beating Iowa State and Kansas State in the wake of Dan Hawkins’ firing. Still, he has virtually no chance of landing the job in the long run. CU’s big-money backer wants an old man who hasn’t coached since 1994 (but who keeps promises) to take the helm. Phil Anchutz will get his wish.
McCartney means money. Cabral makes sense.
