Maybe he’s got the flu. It’s going around. Or maybe it’s something else; but the Denver Post’s Avalanche beat writer seems to have gone missing.
Days after accusing BSN Avalanche writers Adrian Dater and AJ Haefele (and others) of covering the team “from their TV” Chambers failed to appear at Avs practice and was a no-show when the team travelled to Vancouver to face the hated Canucks. In an ironic twist the Post’s “gamer” credited Altitude TV of providing information on Nathan MacKinnon’s injury (he’s day to day).
Far be it for me to read too much into Chambers’ absence. If I go to far with speculation my Mom gets angry and threatens not to allow me to dispatch from her basement anymore – but it does seem mighty off that the seventeen-year veteran of the paper would suddenly be M.I.A. immediately after ranting on Twitter about how God damn superior he and his Pro Hockey Writers Association brethren are to the lowly BSN’ers.
Maybe it’s not the flu. Maybe Mike Chambers is on administrative leave. I’ll provide updates as my little birdies provide them. Whatever the case, it’s pretty hilarious that the Denver Post appears stuck reporting on the Avs through a television set – albiet temporarily.
