Super Bowl media day is a three ring circus.
It’s so ridiculous and brings out so much crazy and shtick, that it has become predictable. After seeing this year’s crop of characters through the eyes of twitter this morning, I was inspired to reminisce about a few of the nutzos from years past.
If you missed today’s random throng of costumed “media” they included a dude dressed as Mozart, another in a Waldo outfit and some type of spandexed super hero.
The Proposal Lady
In 2008, Ines Gomez Mont, a reporter from Mexico’s TV Azteca showed up to media day in a wedding dress and made worldwide headlines by proposing to Tom Brady during his time on the podium. Brady handled it like a pro of course and Mont went on to ask the same question of opposing quarterback Eli Manning.
She Bang
William Hung, the horrendous American Idol viral “sensation”, was actually a correspondent at media day in 2007. He and another Idol castoff roamed around wearing Brian Urlacher and Peyton Manning jerseys talking to members of both teams, dancing and doing his awful version of She Bang.
Wrestling Masked Reporter
Last year, this guy actually attempted to ask Colin Kaepernick football related questions wearing a wrestling mask from a league that folded in 2011. Whatever, dude.
