Radio Row: Altitude 92.5 eclipsed 104.3 the Fan for the first time in Summer 2023
There’s a first time for everything.
Altitude Sports Radio had trailed 104.3 the Fan in ratings in every single ratings period until the most recent one; summer of 2023, when the little station that could finally beat up on the big kid on the block. According to Barrett Sports Media, Altitude emerged from the period with a 5.3 rating, tied for 4th in their desired demo, with the Fan settling for a 4.5 share, tied for 7th.
The morning drive trio of Moser, Lombardi and Kane scored an eye-popping 7.1 share in contrast with Mark Schlereth and Mike Evans’ 4.5 share. This marks the second straight ratings period during which Altitude’s AM program wiped the floor with the Fan’s.
Afternoon drive also fared well for Altitude. Nate Kreckman and Andy Lindahl (6.2 share) decimated the Drive (5.1 share); which could help explain why the station decided to part ways with legendary drive time host, Darren “Dmac” McKee. Whether or not that’s the case, the Fan recently made wholesale changes to their lineup; which seems a little less surprising given today’s news.
