Kings leave Iguodala at the altar after setting his price high
The Sacramento Kings and their new General Manager, Pete “I used to work for the Nuggets” D’Alessandro offered a “king’s ransom” to free agent Andre Iguodala: 4 years, 52 million. That’s 13 million dollars per season. But they pulled the offer from the table, according to Sam Amick of USA Today.
Iggy wants to stay in Denver (even though he can’t admit it) and dragged his feet in accepting Sac town’s deal. Now the Kings are moving on without him. Nobody is certain precisely in what direction Sacramento is heading but their path will apparently not include Iggy.
Unfortunately, despite opting to blow off Iguodala, the Kings have set the price for his services at thirteen to fourteen million per year. It’s hard to say whether or not the Nuggets should offer to pay that much. It’s what Iguodala will be looking for now, though. At least now we know.
