The Rockies play the Mets tomorrow at home … or do they?
The Rockies may be playing the Mets tomorrow at 4:10 PM. Or they might not be.
It might be hard to say since Root Sports, the broadcast partner of the Rockies, won’t be airing a baseball game. MLB TV won’t be airing one either. So maybe the Rockies won’t be playing. You can try tuning into KOA radio to find out.
As we’ve complained vigorously about before on the pages of South Stands Denver, the little blog nobody reads (according to some hack), Root is contracted to carry 150 of 162 Colorado Rockies games. That means that twelve games are not aired. How much sense does that make?
It seems like Root Sports has one purpose, to be the home of the Rockies. Why Root or the team would agree to enter into an arrangement that involves not airing that many games is anybody’s guess. It’s stupid as heck, that’s for sure.
