Bye Bye Masai. Cheap ass Kroenkes strike again.
Bye Bye Masai.
The beloved GM of the Denver Nuggets is off to try and turn around the terrible Toronto Raptors. He’s no longer a part of our team or our community – and for that we can that Kroenke Sports and their eternal cheapness.
Ujiri’s departure is not a matter of the Nuggets failing to match the perhaps too-lucrative offer that Toronto made Ujiri. That would have bordered on insane. It’s a matter of the organization not being proactive in making sure that they secured Masai’s services long before the Toronto job became available. The fact that they have lost the NBA Executive of the Year has more to do with the corporate culture at KSE than it does anything else. “Silent Stan” Kroenke is notoriously cheap and renowned for letting the good ones get away.
KSE does not renegotiate contracts or extend them. They let them expire. In this case their tight-fistedness has cost them one of the brightest executives in all of sports – and cost the fans of the Nuggets a man they adored.
Had Denver taken action last summer this never would have happened.
I’m pissed.
