We will tell our kids about the 2013 Denver Nuggets.
I have a confession to make.
I barely watched the Nuggets thump the Thunder tonight. I was at Stiffs night out, alternately podcasting with Nate, Ross and Jeff from the Colorado Sports Guys and chewing the fat with Renaud Notaro, Sandy Clough, Lance Britton, Adam Kinney, Andrew Feinstein and Masai Ujiri.
Does it sound like I am name dropping … because I am.
What a night.
And for the Nuggets to win this one … their second straight of a back-to-back, on the road, in Oklahoma City was simply amazing.
Mark Kiszla was nowhere to be found. He and his negativity stayed home. Tonight was a celebration.
Are these Nuggets contenders? Who cares? Enjoy the ride, Nuggets fans.
The playoffs are a long way off. There are plenty of regular season games yet to be watched, attended and talked about. There’s something very special happening here and, as we saw tonight, other teams find it very frustrating.
These Nuggets are a pain in the ass. What could be better for a fan to watch than a group that makes head coaches curse and superstars beg?
They’re deep, they’re surprising, they’re FUN to watch and they train at altitude. The road doesn’t look so scary anymore. Bring on the Thunder, bring on the Clips, bring on San Antonio. Bring on the back to backs.
The Nuggets are ready. They’ve shown it thirteen straight ways. But let’s not speculate. Tomorrow is not ours to live. Let’s stay in the now and just be floored by what we are witnessing. We will tell our kids about the 2013 Denver Nuggets.
I doubt we will tell them about Elvis Dumervil’s fax machine.
