Pay the man, Stan.
(via Denver Stiffs)
We learned from Jeffrey Morton at Denver Stiffs this morning that Yahoo’s Adrian Wojnarowski
is reporting the Philadelphia 76ers tried to snipe Masai Ujiri from the Denver Nuggets this summer.
Pricks.
The rest of the NBA is apparently waking up the idea that Ujiri is a top shelf manager, a super evaluator of talent and a guy players want to play for. Denver can’t afford to lose him. Unfortunately, he’s also the lowest paid GM in the entire NBA.
Pay the man, Stan.
Kroenke is notoriously cheap. In every single sport where he has an interest he is known as an Ebenezer. He does things his way – and his way does not include writing lots of checks he deems unneccesary. Ask an Arsenal fan. Hell, ask an Avalanche fan. His strategy seems to be to build teams that are just good enough to sell tickets and concessions.
When it comes to Ujiri Stan can’t mess around. He reportedly gave Masai permission to talk to the 76ers. That’s no bueno.
