The Rockies “road to 100” is an 8-lane super freeway.
For the Colorado Rockies 100 losses in 2012 seems like a foregone conclusion.
With a third of a season yet to be played, the Purple and Black have 38 wins and 68 losses on the season. They’re two losses behind the Astros in the race to rock bottom.
They’ve completed 106 of 162 games. There are 56 left to play. With their current winning percentage of .358 they will win 20 more games, giving them 58 wins and 104 losses on the season.
This, of course, assumes that their winning percentage does not, in fact, go DOWN. It probably will, since the team now knows that there is no hope for them to make the post-season and they will continue to bring up minor leaguers and rest veterans.
For those people hoping to see the Rockies blown up, the math all works. The only question is how the Monforts will respond.
