Avalanche skate aside, make room for the Rockies
It was awful nice of the Avalanche to blow it.

Our sports plate is pretty full these days. Aside from the never ending saga that is Denver Broncos Football (the draft is coming, the draft is coming!), we have the Denver Nuggets knocking on the door of a playoff berth and the beginning of baseball season. It’s going to be an electric April.
The last thing we needed was the excitement of the NHL Playoffs distracting us now!
The Avalanche must have realized it, too, because they pissed down their legs last night versus one of the crappiest teams in the entire Western Conference – something called the Blue Jackets. Colorado skated it’s ass right out of playoff contention just in time for baseball season!
Wasn’t that nice of them??
Now the Rockies can begin a season for which fan expectations are nearly identical to those held for the Avalanche a few months back. In other words, a playoff appearance is a possibility (especially with the MLB having added a Wild Card in each league for 2012) but not considered a home run.
No other season feels like baseball season at it’s outset. Next year starts now! Go Rockies!
Thanks for skating aside, Avalanche.
