Uncle Stan wants to buy the Dodgers

To the National Football League, Stan Kroenke is the owner of the St. Louis Rams. We know him as the owner of the Nuggets, the Avalanche, the Mammoth, the Rapids and probably the company you work for.
Stan’s the man in Colorado.
Oh, and he also own something called “Aresenal”, a soccer team from what I understand.
Soon he could own the Dodgers, too. That’s right, a team in the same division as your Colorado Rockies.
It’s one thing for Kroenke to split his loyalties between colorful Colorado and St. Louis. The Broncos rarely play the Rams and when they do it’s generally meaningless for both teams. They play in different conferences. For those reasons Kroenke has never really had much of a conflict of interest – at least not as far as football is concerned.
For him to own the Dodgers would be another matter altogether. How could he invest his Colorado money in a team that sets out each Spring to take down the Rockies? How could he hang out in Pepsi Center, a facility that he both owns and often sleeps on top of, texting his Dodger henchmen?
It’s too soon to know whether or not Kroenke will actually end up owning the Dodgers. He’s merely on of ten final candidates who will be allowed the privilage of bidding on the team that Frank McCourt and his ex-old lady have been publicly fighting over. A buyer must be named by April 1, however, so we will find out soon enough.
We’re always rooting for uncle Stan but, in this case, we kind of hope things don’t go his way. For the owner of teams we root for to take over a traditional rival seems kind of crummy.
