The Nuggets managed to lose and get a huge win in the same game on the same night.

They trailed by 23 with ten minutes left in the third. Then they got pissed off.

Led by Corey Brewer and rookie Kenneth “Manimal” Faried, the Nuggets played like a team tonight for the first time in weeks. George Karl finally decided to sit down guys who weren’t bringing the nasty in favor of hungry bench players – and it paid off.

The Nuggets took another loss tonight, 103-102. They’re now 3-7 in the month of February and 3-9 in their past 12 games but they gave Memphis a run for it’s money in the second half and broke out of the doldrums.

Had they not fallen so far behind to start the game they probably would have won.

The game started out with an eerily familiar feel. The Nuggets were taking lazy shots, playing zero defense and getting out-hustled in every way. Then, in the third, something snapped.

They gained momentum tonight that they will desperately need heading into OKC on Sunday.

The schedule isn’t getting any easier any time soon for the Nuggets. Hopefuly, the fact that they were able to make tonight’s game close in impossible fashion will bolster their confidence moving forward.
