Enough with the powerhouse teams, already. The Nuggets need a layup and they get one tonight when the Oakland Golden State Warriors trot into town.
They had better get a damn win.
The Warriors are what might be called “non-contenders”. While nobody will call the Nuggets that, they are slipping like an empty pickup truck with bald tires. They have to get a grip.
If the playoffs started today the Nuggets would be the 6th seed. A little over a week ago they would have been the 2nd. Their first round opponent would be the 3rd seed, also known as the Clippers.
It might be best to save those guys for the second round.
It’s a bit early to talk playoffs, but a third of this shortened season has already come and gone. The February schedule is rough, too. We get Dallas, OKC and the Clips this month, all on the road.
The Nuggets need to get healthy and back on track. It all starts by beating a team they are supposed to beat.
