This Spring we’re ‘Root’ing for Lauren Gardner
MLB Networked reached down and plucked Alanna Rizzo. We’re hoping Root Sports, broadcast home of the Colorado Rockies, brings Lauren Gardner home to replace her.

We’re huge Lauren Gardner fans here at the ‘Stands. She’s appeared on the South Stands Denver Fancast not once, but twice. She has shown up in tee-shirt and jeans and shown not the slightest bit of discomfort with being in the concrete bunker we call a studio.
She’s been a fantastic guest. Lauren is ultra-friendly and, for a woman as stunning as she is, completely down-to-earth.
She’s also extremely knowledgeable about Sports.
Lauren Gardner can easily talk Rockies, Avalanche, Broncos, Nuggets, Mammoth and Rapids with the best of ’em.
She began her career here in Denver as a cheerleader for both the Broncos and the Colorado Mammoth, a role she used to kick open several doors in local media.
Lauren has appeared on Fox Sports, Altitude Sports and Entertainment, Mile High Sports Radio and the Mountain Sports Network.
She’s been involved with in-game entertainment as well. Lauren’s face-to-face fan banter has livened Avalanche and Rockies games.
Most recently she’s been covering the Lingerie Football League for MTV Networks.
Yesterday, I watched her work the playoff game between the Tampa Breeze and the Philadelphia Passion.
Lauren is a natural side line reporter.
She understands athletes and has an undeniable on-camera “wow factor”. She’s hot, but she’s no hot-house flower. Lauren’s a hard worker and it shows.
I can’t say whether or not Lauren wants the post that Alanna Rizzo will be vacating covering the Rockies for Root Sports. I haven’t asked her. But I assume that she would enjoy the opportunity. Besides, I’ve never hesitated to stick my nose where it doesn’t belong where such matters are concerned.
That’s why the ‘Stands is officially starting a campaign to encourage the folks at Root to hire her to cover the Rockies this season.
She’s hyperqualified for the job and, if she’s not working with one of the local teams very soon, Colorado is likely to lose her to another market, if not to a national network like ESPN or NBC Sports.
As Lauren fans, we don’t want that too happen too soon.
So, Root Sports, consider this a fan request. If you would like to take a look at Lauren’s resume you’ll find it RIGHT HERE.
