It’s that time of year again, folks; the time of year when your Colorado Rockies go on a hot streak suddenly begin looking like a playoff team. As badly as things have gone this season it’s tough to imagine that they could still claw their way back into the post season picture but stranger things, as they say, have happened.
As it stands, the Rox are 8.5 games behing the Diamond Backs for the NL West lead and 6.5 behind San Fransisco for second. The Rox have 32 games yet to play. They have face both the Giants and D Bags 6 more times before it’s all said and done. In other words, the window is open, you guys.
The Diamond Backs come to town on the 5th of September for a three game series. They can pretty much shut this talk of a possible comeback on the part of the Rockies down right then and there. If, however, Colorado can stay hot and they were to sweep Arizona …. the playoff talk will heat up in Denver.
