CBS’ Pete Prisco takes great pride in being an idiot.
Tim Tebow’s harshest critics are coming around. Even ESPN’s Merrill Hoge, perhaps the most vocal of the bashers, has made an about-face in the wake of Timmy’s recent performances. CBS NFL “expert”, Pete Prisco refuses to budge, though. He enjoys playing the fool.

Pete Prisco thrives on venom of Broncos fans. His unwavering anti-Tebow stance earns him plenty. It appears as though Tebow would have to save the life one of Prisco’s children to get him to back off his constant criticism of the young star. Prisco’s Twitter feed features one nasty comment after another about the kid. He’s gone well beyond being a critic and cast himself as a hater – not only of Tebow but of his admirers. In defending this hatred, Prisco comes off as a bull-headed fool. That’s OK with him. Pete Prisco takes great pride in being an idiot.
Consider these gems:
- *So Hoge has backed off his opinion of Tebow. I guess I am the last one out there sticking to a football evaluation. Unreal how people cave
*Difference between Hoge and myself: My bosses allow me to stick to my opinions. Do his?
*Tebow is still so jumpy and ugly in the pocket. When that changes, I change my evaluation.
*Tebow isn’t in the same class with Bradford. All 32 teams in the league would take Bradford. Elway included.
*I can make an evaluation of any player in the NFL here, and nothing is said. Make comments about Tebow and it’s sick.
*Why so emotionally tied to him? Weird. He’s just a football player.
*I loved players when I was a kid. Never cared what they were as people. Seems that’s the case with this kid. Weird.
*I will break down how Broncos got four sacks against Bears. Love Dennis Allen’s schemes. Who, you say? Right, he isn’t the QB.
*Good kid. . But who cares if a player isn’t as good as him as a person? We don’t watch games making an issue of them as people.
These are only a few of Prisco’s Tweets from the past week. Roughly 80% of his Tweets are Tebow related. Like so many in the media, Prisco sees TT as a golden opportunity. He gives the kid enough credit to know that he is the quarterback America most wants to talk about and that talking Tebow adds to his profile. By remaining the lone bonehead unwilling to admit that Tebow is a winner, Prisco sees a chance to set himself apart. Idiot is his brand. He’s going to market the hell out of it.
We’ve been tempted to steer clear of Prisco. He’s never got anything constructive to say. We will keep an eye on him, though. It would be a shame to miss out the day he finally decided to eat his words.
