Doom drama persists. When will it finally end?
This is all getting to be a bit much.
After Elvis Dumervil had already agreed to a pay cut and a new deal to keep him in orange and blue for the next several years, he and the Broncos are still dancing around.
Dwight Freeney and John Abraham are Denver bound today, each hoping to land Dumervil’s job and Dumervil’s heading to Baltimore to interview with the newly depleted Ravens.
It’s crazy.
Can an errant fax transmission really be responsible for this mess? If Elvis was a quality signing a week ago shouldn’t he still be one today? The situation seems almost surreal.
It can’t go on like this much longer. The Broncos need to settle on a pass rusher. From the sound of things, the ball is back in Doom’s court. He’s unhappy with the post-FaxGate proposal that’s on the table so he’s weighing his options. In my book he needs to man up and sign.
His camp caused this mess. That doesn’t mean that Dumervil isn’t still Denver’s best option. For the sake of cohesiveness let’s hope that he and the Broncos can get it together.
