The shitty cars of Englewood #6. 1986 Nissan pickup
Welcome to the Shitty Cars of Englewood #6
Within only blocks of the concrete bunker we find some of the junkiest jalopies in all of Colorado. It’s not like us to keep this bounty to ourselves. Oh, no. We want to share it with you, our loyal readers.
Today we spotted this worke horse: a 1986 Nissan pickup that, despite it’s haggard appearance, can be seen bopping about the neighborhood on the regular.
Vehicles produced in the 1980’s have become a common theme of the Shitty Cars of Englewood feature, but these are usually American made cars. This Nissan is the first Japanese vehicle to make our list. It’s clear that, while the land of the Rising Sun was buiding far better machines during the era, the paint they used was just as crappy. The white coating on this Nissan has all but fallen off completely, leaving the exposed sheet steel to rot in the elements. Oxide orange streaks of rust run down it’s panels, staining the remaining finish.
Both bumpers have done their fair share of bumping. The rear one, however, has suffered the additional injustice of having been yanked almost off the truck by it’s ball hitch.
The truck has been in a fender bender or two over the years, as indicated by the fact that it’s fenders are bent, but it has clearly served its owners well.
