Billionaire Philip Anschutz is backing Mac. Yes, the same Philip Anschutz who donated $15M to the University to help complete it’s Aurora Medical Campus which is named after him.
C.U.’s primary concern in the midst of all this is straight cash money. Anschutz is one guy who’s got plenty.
The only sticking point is that McCartney wants the right to appoint his own replacement. The University is reluctant to grant him that. Surely, Mac is interested in this, so that he can be sure whomever replaces him at C.U. is as godly a man as he.
