Champ Bailey: Jason La Canfora just kind of makes sh*t up.
CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora published an article yesterday attempting to predict who some of the NFL’s “cap casualties” would be following the 2012 / 2013 season. Among the players La Confora named in the piece was Champ Bailey. Naturally, that caused a bit of a buzz around Denver. It was bullshit, of course.
Andrew Mason of MaxDenver.com, a Broncos savant, looked into the matter and folks at Dove Valley quashed it. They’re not going to release a popular Hall of Fame player like Champ. The story was ridiculous. That didn’t keep Mile High Sports from running with it, which is odd. Shock value, I guess.
Interestingly, one big name player was released by a team today. The Giants let Ahmad Bradshaw go. Guess who wasn’t mentioned in La Canfora’s article? You guessed it: Ahmad Bradshaw.
It’s that time of year, folks. Rumors are going to be flying all over the place, so be careful who you believe. Some guys just kind of make shit up.
