Our week four NFL picks VS the spread
Pimpin’ ain’t easy and neither is pickin’ – especially not in the NFL. In week three only one of our celebrated prognosticators eked out a .500 plus performance against the spread. Hopefully things go a little more smoothly in week four. Here’s now the fellows see things shaping up.

St Louis VS San Francisco (-3)
The ‘Niners are in trouble. After being the darlings of prognosticators in the pre-season, the maroon and gold find themselves floundering at 1-2. They were utterly dismantled by Carolina in week three. This week they hit the road to face division rival St Louis in a game in which they are favored for the third straight week.
Colin’s pick: San Francisco -3
John’s pick: San Francisco -3
Snyder’s pick: St Louis +3
Scott’s pick: San Francisco -3
Minnesota VS Pittsburgh (-2) in London
Big Ben meets Big Ben across the pond this week for a tilt with Christian Ponder and the Vikes. Why the NFL wishes to subject the Brits to this brand of football is anybody’s guess. Vegas has no idea what to do with this spread. Virtually a pick ‘em.
Colin’s pick: Minnesota +2
John’s pick: Pittsburgh -2
Snyder’s pick: Pittsburgh -2
Scott’s pick: Pittsburgh -2
Buffalo VS Baltimore (-3)
Baltimore is our second road favorite of the week, versus the home Bills who have looked good in spots this season but, sadly don’t have the record to show for it. Buffalo fans hope not to see yet another close loss.
Colin’s pick: Buffalo +3
John’s pick: Baltimore -3
Snyder’s pick: Buffalo +3
Scott’s pick: Buffalo +3
Cleveland VS Cincinnati (-4.5)
The Browns proves last week against the Vikings that they had no intention of tanking their season. Their win opened some eyes and revealed their offensive punch. Bryan Hoyer, their new starting QB looked good. They host their cross-state rival, the Bengals in week four.
Colin’s pick: Cleveland +4.5
John’s pick: Cleveland +4.5
Snyder’s pick: Cleveland +4.5
Scott’s pick: Cincinnati -4.5
Jacksonville VS Indianapolis (-8.5)
Jacksonville is no ordinary home dog. They’re the worst team in the NFL. The very same Colts that just beat the ‘Niners on the road come into sunny Florida looking to skin the cats.
Colin’s pick: Indianapolis -8.5
John’s pick: Indianapolis -8.5
Snyder’s pick: Indianapolis -8.5
Scott’s pick: Indianapolis -8.5
Houston VS Seattle (-3)
Everyone seems ready to quit on the Texans who are quickly seeing their division slip away into the hands of Andrew Luck and the Colts. And things don’t get any easier for them this week with the undefeated Seahawks paying a visit.
Colin’s pick: Houston +3
John’s pick: Seattle -3
Snyder’s pick: Seattle -3
Scott’s pick: Houston +3
Arizona @ Tampa Bay (-2.5)
Our first home favorite happens to be the crummy Bucks who just made a change at QB. Go figure.
Colin’s pick: Arizona +2.5
John’s pick: Arizona +2.5
Snyder’s pick: Tampa Bay (-2.5)
Scott’s pick: Tampa Bay (-2.5)
Chicago @ Detroit (-2.5)
This tempting pairing features two NFC North teams that have plenty of bad blood between them. It’s Cutler. It’s Stafford. It’s Megatron and Brandon Marshall. Grab a few cold ones and settle in for a great game.
Colin’s pick: Detroit -2.5
John’s pick: Chicago +2.5
Snyder’s pick: Chicago +2.5
Scott’s pick: Chicago +2.5
NY Giants @ Kansas City (-4)
It’s some kind of crazy that the Giants have been as terrible as they have this season. KC’s impressive defense must be licking its chops at the notion of facing Eli and his shaky offensive line. Who can blame them?
Colin’s pick: NY Giants +4
John’s pick: Kansas City -4
Snyder’s pick: Kansas City -4
Scott’s pick: Kansas City -4
NY Jets @ Tennessee (-4)
The Titans picked up an impressive week versus San Diego in week three. Suddenly, the Titans look like they could contend in the AFC South. The Jets look to stay competitive in the East, as well. Miami and New England are both undefeated.
Colin’s pick: Tennessee -4
John’s pick: NY Jest +4
Snyder’s pick: Tennessee (-4)
Scott’s pick: Tennessee (-4)
San Diego VS Dallas (-2)
Dallas is the class of the NFC East so far this season. They travel to beautiful San Diego in week four for a shot at the Chargers, who have lost two games in heart-wrenching fashion.
Colin’s pick: Dallas -2
John’s pick: Dallas -2
Snyder’s pick: San Diego +2
Scott’s pick: San Diego +2
Oakland VS Washington (-3)
The Redskins are coming into the black hole desperate to get on the winning path. They have been a huge disappointment so far. Nobody expected anything from the Raiders so they are playing with house money.
Colin’s pick: Oakland +3
John’s pick: Oakland +3
Snyder’s pick: Oakland +3
Scott’s pick: Washington (-3)
Philadelphia @ Denver (-10.5)
The Broncos are on the right side of another monster spread this week. Their offense has paid off big so far this season. Chip Kelley’s Eagle offense showed some swagger early but has floundered for five straight halves.
Colin’s pick: Denver -10.5
John’s pick: Denver -10.5
Snyder’s pick: Denver -10.5
Scott’s pick: Denver -10.5
New England @ Atlanta (-1.5)
The Falcons are not home dogs, but the line doesn’t say that they are big favorites either. The Sunday nighter should provide plenty of intrigue for viewers as Matty Ice meets Tom Brady.
Colin’s pick: New England +1.5
John’s pick: Atlanta -1.5
Snyder’s pick: Atlanta -1.5
Scott’s pick: New England +1.5
Miami @ New Orleans (-6.5)
This battle between the surprising ‘Phins and the steady Saints in New Orleans is a perfect capper for the NFL weekend.
Colin’s pick: New Orleans -6.5
John’s pick: New Orleans -6.5
Snyder’s pick: New Orleans -6.5
Scott’s pick: New Orleans -6.5
