Screw Dinger. We want Toothy!
Enough already with the stupid purple dinosaur.
Nobody over the age of eight likes Dinger. The Rockies mascot is easily the most ridiculous in all of baseball – if not all of sports. There is a one giant foam costume that makes people of all ages smile, though. And it’s at Coors Field for every home game. I’m talking about Toothy, the Comfort Dental tooth, who participates in the “tooth trot” along with a toothbrush named Brushy and a tube of toothpaste we can only assume is named Pasty.
Of the three Comfort Dental mascots, Toothy is the most popular. He’s also the most frequent winner of the tooth trot. Toothy has a pedigree of winning. All Dinger has is a big head.
The time has come for the Rockies to replace Dinger with Toothy.
Dinger was designed as an homage to the fossils found at the Coors Field site during contruction of the ball park. Of those fossils, several had to have been teeth, right? Assuming that’s the case then Toothy is every bit as good a fit as Dinger – and not half as annoying.
