Kevin Garnett ain’t coming to no Denver
Maybe it’s fun to talk about it, but there’s no chance on earth that Kevin Garnett is going to let the Celtics trade him to the Denver Nuggets. We can all just snuff that idea out right here and now.
Garnett’s no trade clause means that he has to approve any deal the Celtics make. Fact is, Garnett doesn’t want to go anywhere. He’s not likely to allow the Celts to trade him and even if he did it would be to a a team ready to win the whole thing right now.
Rumor has it that KG won’t even listen to the Clippers, and they’re closer than the Nuggets are to being a contender.
He’s a rare bird in that he doesn’t want to play for any other team. Kevin Garnett is fiercely loyal to the Celtics. He’s also in a position to make sure that, even if they aren’t as loyal to him, they can’t do anything about it.
KG to Denver is good sports radio fodder and provides columnists with something to write about in the post-Broncos dearth of subject matter, but it’s completely unrealistic. And that’s too bad.
