We will all remember where we were when Peyton Manning crafted the most outrageous comeback anyone has ever seen.

It was historic.

John Elway had his share of hair-raising victories in the face of overwhelming odds, but the great number seven never pulled off anything quite like this. The Broncos scored thirty-five unanswered points after trailing twenty-four to zip at half time. It was spectacular. Unbelievable.

Only one of Peyton Manning’s fourteen second half throws failed to settle into the waiting hands of a Broncos receiver. Manning amassed nearly 170 yards passing and scored three touchdowns in waging the greatest comeback of his career – and in Broncos’ lore.

Pull that dusty history book off the shelf. Flip to the Chapter titled “Tebow”. Now turn the page.

All he does is win.

Peyton Manning’s Broncos story is being written and you won’t want to put it down.

He was brought here to do just this. John Elway, about whom most pages in team annals were written, knew that Peyton Manning would pick the story up. Selflessly, and without regard for his own perch atop the pantheon of Colorado Sports, Elway made room for yet another legend to grow in the Mile High City.

Chapter Eighteen won’t be long. Peyton Manning simply doesn’t have enough seasons left as a player in the NFL to add much thickness to the text. As long as he does remain a Denver Bronco, however, words will continually fail to describe his heroics.

Did somebody say something about “arm strength”?

Peyton Manning did not defeat the Chargers on his own. Big plays on defense and on special teams contributed to the Monday Night story. Manning authored the win, though. And it’s only the beginning.
