I never really liked sports until I had a religious conversion when the Broncos lost to the 49ers in that one Super Bowl. Now I'm obsessed with all aspects of the Denver pro sports world. Oh yeah, hate college football. And I used to write a column for AV Club Denver but now am a full time contributor to this here site.
Wowee Zowee. Colorado legend and 20 year host of the KBCO morning show, Bret Saunders (@bretontheradio) joins us for a fantastic show. We weave a little sports talk into the mix but it's a musical extravaganza as we cover the spectrum of awesome music stories, interviews and shenanigans of Bret's illustrious career.
Bret loves the Sportique Studios and does a great read for the shop.
Did you ever wonder what music former Rockies manager Clint Hurdle listens to? We got you. You want to know what it's like to meet Bono? It's all here for you plus John tries to see if Bret sees Jazz in sports. He doesn't.
Just a great show with a Colorado mainstay and a truly awesome dude.
Captain Fantasy is back and he shares his dark secret about not wanting to do fantasy anymore. We think he changes his mind by the end of the episode.
We talk quarterbacks, drafts, scoring systems and when to cut ties with players who have burned you in the past.
Live the Fantasy Life with us.
Scott is back and the music is groovy.
It's a shade cooler in the studios tonight as we delve into more hot talk about the Rockies, the Denver Post (Woody Paige), Champ Camp and a little story about Earl Campbell's Hot Links.
A great Tweep of the Week and the triumphant return of Headlines to Yardlines caps off a great show with just the South Stands crew. It's nice.
Life is just a fantasy, can you live the fantasy life? We ask this very important question in the debut of our new show with special guest @AdamKinneyRadio.
This is a different kind of fantasy show that will get you thinking beyond the x's and o's and about the deeper meaning of fantasy sports.
Great balls of fire! The studio was hot tonight, in temperature and with the hot talk.
We have the great Adam Kinney (@adamkinneyradio) on and he informs us he's now a member of the "Five Timer Club" and we declare him the Alec Baldwin of the Fancast.
We talk Denver media, the Rockies and we get deep into some Broncos talk including the naming rights and what it's like at the media BBQ at Dove Valley.
A great Tweep of the Week and we talk Training Camp and ask why someone would bake in the sun watching practice.
Adam is one of the best talents in Denver and we can't wait for him to be a sixth timer soon.
FantasyVille season two starts off with a bang and John finally admits to Colin that he has become a DFS junkie over the last year.
A great discussion of all things fantasy, take a trip to FantastyVille and stay awhile...until the cops come and roust you from where you're squatting.
"Like someone who has only eaten Salisbury steak their whole life, and then being introduced to prime rib, the second I stuck my fork into DFS, I realized what I was missing."
"...A Blake Street Perestroika of sorts, that will help mend the fences of a problematic relationship between ownership and fans. I want to love the Rockies, but this kind of vindictiveness makes it difficult to say the least."
"Both fanbases are obnoxious wankers that make ISIS look like a few rowdy lads you could have a beer with."
"The inability to run the ball lets defenses know exactly what you’re going to do next. It’s football 101 and is as obvious as a 6’4” man in a dress with an adam’s apple the size of a kiwi."
