Denver's newest Nugget, the enigmatic JaVale McGee, is a hit in social media. You can question his basketball IQ, but not his delightful strangeness.

Follow him on Twitter @JaValeMcGee34 and on Instagram where JaVale goes by BigDaddyWookie.

We knew that the reviews would start flowing in on the Denver Broncos 2012 draft and we suspected that they wouldn't be great. Denver's selection of Brock Osweiler in the second round has been almost universally criticised.

What we didn't expect is that America's crappiest newspaper (the one you get for free for staying in a Best Western motel) would rank Denver's selections dead last among those of all 32 NFL teams.

The USA Today says of the Broncos' draft:

"They moved out of the first round and seemingly added little immediate help, odd since it seems like they are in win-now mode after the arrival of 36-year-old QB Peyton Manning. Perhaps they're right about their first choice (DT Derek Wolfe early in Round 2), but they bypassed multiple chances to get more highly regarded run stuffers. Getting QB Brock Osweiler later in the round was also a bit of head scratcher. Our favorite pick was C Philip Blake in Round 4."

He came up big when we needed him - on a Sunday - with Peyton Manning and Eric Decker sitting in the stands. He saved sports but, in the end he couldn't save the Rockies.

Aw. Poor widdle Knickerbockers. They got boned so hard today.  Former Nuggets, JR Smith went 7 for 17 shooting and 3 for 8 from from beyond the arc. Pretty crappy - but JR was a shining star compared to Carmelo Anthony who managed 11 points on 3 of 15 shooting and 0-2 from three-point land. Carmelo's plus / minus was -35 in the Knicks post-season opener in MIami.

The Knicks were positively throttled by the Heat, 100-67, in a game that Nuggets fans very much enjoyed.

S.I. ran a great article on JaVale McGee

I don't know how I missed this now week-old article from Sports Illustrated on JaVale McGee.

It's interesting. The article is titled "JaVale being JaVale". It delves into his upbringing as the son of a WNBA star, discusses his inconsistancy and his eerie natural ability. To read it is to learn at least one thing you did not already know about Denver's most enigmatic athlete.

You can't blame the kid. He did, after all, attend ASU. Brock Osweiler is no genius. Follow the link to a video of a post-draft interview during which he refers to himself as "myself" repeatedly (embedding is disabled).

The Broncos traded up to select San Diego State running back Ronnie Hillman in the second round, according to Mike Klis of the Denver Post.
