South Stands Denver Fancast
Our good buddy Snyder (@MadGameCC69) joins us for some excellent Broncos talk, Rockies defamation and everything in between.
We talk D Thomas grossness before talking about PFM, the Kings and their Eazy E connection. Snyder calls Matt Duchene a big pussy.
Then we shift to the Rockies and it isn't pretty.
Spano's Chiefs jersey is broached, as is a rigged game of 'Name that Tweep' that favors our guest because he gives two shits about college football.
We are forced to listen to some "crop" (crappy pop) and a double dose of Juggalo or Raider fan is played.
No guests, just the boys as they talk about recent controversies, NHL vs NBA ratings, and a sound way to fix the NBA officiating. The Rapids are only available on Sporting KC's YouTube channel which befuddles the crew. And lastly, we figure out who is at the top of the Denver sports broadcasting Power Rankings. The winner is not going to believe it.
Mile High Sports' Brandon Spano enters the concrete bunker to find that his antagonist, John Reidy was out of town for the taping of the show. Spano lets Reidy have it anyway. A certain dust up with Sandy Clough is discussed.
Spano gets taken to task for being a Chiefs fan.
We talk some Rockies and offer up some alternatives to the Taco Bell "we want tacos" promotion that better fit the Rockies current circumstances.
We talked a little NBA and Spano explained how he ended up in the Sports Radio business.
A fantastic and very loud episode rich in Sports talk. A must listen for aspiring radio personalities.
We get to the bottom of Gil’s start to his 25 year radio career, he tells some jokes and gives us some great John Elway stories and how he was instrumental in bringing baseball to
Gil tells us an amazing story about Mike Shanahan and Wade Phillips's hiring that you’ve probably never heard before.
And he gives us the behind the scenes rundown about what prompted a famed column from his good friend Woody Paige.
Gil was a wealth of info and we could have gone on for hours with him. Check out his daily show on Mile High Sports, The Sports Nooner from 11 am to 1 pm on 93.7 FM.
A return to form and a return to the studio as we welcome aspiring newscaster, Brian "Scoop" Nemeth (@Scoop719) into the concrete bunker.
Scoop is a very interesting cat and we get into his desire to be a nightly newscaster, his journey from Colorado Springs to Denver and his unflinching desire to realize his dream.
We also talk some sports, and quiz Scoop on some local media trivia. He dazzles us with his knowledge as well as blowing out our microphones with his exuberant "SPORTS!"
Show 100, that 's all you really need to know. But I'll tell you anywyay. A live taping at Jake's Food and Spirits featuring Renaud Notaro and a rotating cast of malcontents plus a couple of games featuring a rousing Raider or Juggalo fan.
We got a little tipsy but it was a good way to celebrate the century mark. Thanks to Andrew Feinstein, and everyone who came out for the show. Here's to 100 more.
99 shows means 100 is next (math!) and we will be recording live from Jakes (details to follow).
But for 99, we were lucky to score a great guest in Mile High Sports President James Merrilatt (
@jamesmerilatt). We pepper James will all kinds of questions about the state of your favorite Denver sports teams, what it's like to own a radio station/magazine and what Gil Whitely is like behind the scenes.
We cover a lot of ground in an epic lengthed podcast, but it flows quickly as we get in a 'Name That Tweep' and James deftly avoids the "syrup or jelly" question. A fantastic show and a hearty thanks to James who took the time out of his busy schedule to come chat with us in the concrete bunker. Listen to all the quality shows on Mile High Sports (AM 1510 and FM 93.7), check out the mag and support local guys talking local sports.
If you listen to one Rockies laden podcast this week, it's gotta be this one. David Martin (@RockiesReview) from RockiesReview.com joins us for the ultimate Rockies primer. Opening Day is upon us and we lay it down for your listening pleasure.
But first, we put a bow on the Les Shapiro situation and then dive headlong into the Ubaldo/Tulo kerfuffle.
We talk Opening Day and John does 15 minutes on how nice CLUB LEVEL is.
We wish Joel Klatt all the luck in the world as he starts his new gig on Root Sports.
John does 15 minutes on his hat size and we fit in a little Broncos talk with the new uniforms being unveiled today.
A new game "Aurora or Albuquerque" is debuted, Tweep of the Week and David gives us his prediction for this upcoming Rockies season.
Check out Rockies Review on the web, Mile High Sports and Twitter for some of the best Rockies coverage out there.
All you need to know about tonight's podcast is Dmac (@dmac1043) from 104.3 The Fan and NFL Insider Cecil Lammey (@cecillammey) from ESPN Radio 102.3 ventured into the concrete bunker and shook that place to its foundation.
We go super deep into the Manning signing, the Tebow trading, what this means for your Denver Broncos and we gained killer insight into the Denver media.
This is an info and laughter packed show, and while I could go on and on explaining it, you need to just listen.
Dario (@DnDenver) and Adam (@SP0RTSFAN ) from your new favorite weekend radio show, Denver Sports Nation (Sundays 1-4pm on ESPN radio) sit in for a very Manning episode.
We get deep into the Manning Mania currently gripping Broncos Country and just as it's hitting its crescendo, producer Scott Stafford drops a Manning bombshell on his feelings toward Tim Tebow. John warns Adam that his radio partner will soon abandon him for better opportunities. Not that he's speaking from experience or anything.
We discuss "Kizzing" and how John broke the Manning story first. #SuckaDick is the newest hashtag to use.
We get into some major Rockies talk and Colin is itching to get back to the Manning. Ubaldo's apparent douchy-ness is discussed.
CLUB LEVEL IS BROACHED.
DJ Williams' urine is discussed. As is Carmelo's urine like tenure in New York. We get into some Nuggets but a crucial Juggalo or Raider fan is brought to the fore. And some final Broncos thoughts bring it all to bed as you dream of Peyton Manning in the orange and blue.
