Our week thirteen NFL picks VS the spread with guest picker @DSNAdam
It's week 13 already! Can you believe it? How time flies. For many of you, this will be your final week of fantasy football! The fantasy playoffs begin in most leagues next week. Wow. So...if you're on the bubble we wish you the best. Meanwhile, it's time for our week 13 picks in the annual South Stands NFL pickoff VS the spread.
The contest has certainly gotten more interesting. Week 12 saw our buddy, Snyder come back to earth a little bit. Now all our pickers, Colin, Reidy, Snyder and Producer Scott Stafford are within 5 games of each other. The pressure is on, you guys.
Adam Kinney of Mile High Sports / Denver Sports Nation Radio joins us for the second time this season as guest picker. He hopes to cool the burn he experienced last time.
Our picks for week 13 are, as they say on the web, after the jump.

Reviewing our week twelve NFL picks VS the spread
Here's hoping you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend and enjoyed all that the NFL had to offer and that you were treated to a delicious spread.
Speaking of spreads, the South Stands NFL pickoff versus the spread got a whole lot more interesting this week as our contest leader, Snyder suffered his worst week in a long while.
Snyder managed only a 5-10-1 record for week 12, allowing the three other participants to close ground on him. John Reidy won the week, going 10-5-1. Scott Stafford was one game back at 9-6-1, and Colin Daniels was another game back at 8-7-1.
Snyder was sitting on an impressive lead, but now it's down to one game. He's sitting at 92-77-6. Reidy's one behind him at 91-78-6. Colin is at 89-80-6 and Scott Stafford, who was way back a few weeks ago, is 87-8-2-6.
The NFL is pulling into the home stretch and so our our pickers. Every week counts, you guys.
Here's your stupid Broncos /Chiefs prediction
Arrowhead Stadium has been the site of many a Broncos late-season nightmare. Today's week twelve match-up is shaping up to be what dreams are made of, however.
Brady Quinn is starting for the Chiefs at QB as KC's season is crumbling. Aside from Jamaal Charles, the Chiefs have little to offer in terms of offensive fire power. With Quinn's propensity to check-down to the short range reciever, look for Charles to have a decent day, around 65 yards rushing and around eight catches for another 60 or so yards. Aside from that, the Chiefs won't be able to accopmlish much of anything against Denver's surging defense.
This is not going to be a very good game. Yeah, anything can happen. "Any given Sunday" and all that. But the Broncos are going to roll while the Chiefs just roll over.
I predict a 31-3 outcome featuring the following individual stat lines for your favorite Broncos players:
Von Miller: 3.5 sacks
Peyton Manning: 293 yard passing, 3 TDs
Demaryius Thomas: 88 yards recieving (see what I did there?) and a TD
Eric Decker: 3 catches, 64 yards and a TD
Joel Dreessen: 2 catches and a TD
Knowshon Moreno: 42 yards rushing, 1 TD and a fumble
Ronnie Hillman: 68 yards rushing, 5 catches, 45 yards recieving.
Enjoy the game!
Our week twelve NFL picks VS the spread
Our annual NFL pickoff VS the spread is a tight race, although our Buddy, Snyder seems to have a pretty solid lead. We'll see if Producer Scott Stafford, John Reidy and Colin Daniels can get that bastard back on the ropes before he starts getting a big(ger) head.
No guest picker this week. We had to get this crap in turned in early 'cause blogger buy is driving to Nebraska on Wednesday morning. Ah, the Good Life.
Our week 12 picks are, as they say on the internet, "after the jump"

Here's your stupid Broncos / Chargers prediction
One of two things will happen today at Mile High. Either the Chargers will kiss their season goodnight or they will ressurect it. Which of these potential outcomes is this sports blogger expecting?
The answer is, as they say, "after the jump".

Our week eleven NFL picks VS the spread with guest picker @WoodyRoseland
Week eleven in the NFL gets underway tonight. Time sure flies, don't it?
Our pickers in our Annual NFL Pickoff VS the Spread, Colin, John Reidy, Our Buddy Snyder and Producer Scott Stafford continue to slug it out in what remains a relatively close contest. Snyder currently holds a the lead, as he has for three weeks now. It's unlikely that any of our pickers will create any separation this week, as all four picked this week's games pretty similarly.
This week we welcome Woody Roseland, a future guest on the South Stands Denver Fancast, as our guest picker. Woody is some kind of badass, and amputee, a helluva comedian, a cancer activist and a force for good in our Community. Most of us first got to know Woody when he played catch with Jeremy Guthrie. You can visit Woody's web site RIGHT FRIGGIN' HERE.
Our picks are "after the jump" (we stole that term from Deadspin)

Reviewing our week ten NFL picks VS the spread with guest picker, @M1LEHIGHRAIDER
It was a middling week for our pickers in the South Stands Annual NFL Pickoff VS the Spread. Each picker, including this weeks guest, @M1LEHIGHRAIDER, managed to select right around half of the games correctly.
Three tied for first place for the week at 8-6, Our Buddy, Synder, Producer Scott Stafford and @M1LEHIGHRAIDER. Colin went 7-7 and John Reidy managed a respectable 6-8 on the week.
For the season, Snyder still leads with a total record of 78-63-4. Colin's in second place at 73-68-4, John's in third at 71-70-4 and Scatt Stafford is creeping back into the mix with a total record of 69-70-4.
Von plans to mock Cam
(photo CBS Sports)
Von Miller is coming into his own as one of the top linebackers in the NFL. His frequent visits with quarterbacks are becoming the talk of the NFL. And, when Miller sacks a QB he's not ashamed to gloat. Even when the Broncos were getting their asses handed to them by the Falcons, Von gyrated after sacking Matt Ryan.
If he gets to Cam Newton on Sunday, Von plans to mock the second-year QB by busting out his famous "Superman" celebration. He told Lindsay Jones of USA Today Sports "I hope I get a chance to do it".
That's funny and all, but we would rather not see Miller so motivated by his desire to mock other players. Sack dances are fun and all, but Miller is a professional - and a very promising one. Fans enjoy his showmanship, but his coaches probably don't care as much about his sack dance preparations as they do his game preparations.
Our week ten NFL picks VS the spread with guest picker, @M1LEHIGHRAIDER
Our 2012 NFL pickoff VS the spread rolls into week ten with our buddy, Snyder having taken a commanding lead over the past two weeks. Snyder's record for the year is 70-57-4 VS the spread. Colin's in second place at 66-61-4, Reidy's right behind Colin at 65-62-4 and Scott is improving his position by the week. After a slow start, our podcast producer stands at 61-64-4.
We have invited the enemy into our midst this week. @M1LEHIGHRAIDER is our first guest picker in several weeks not to be employed at Mile High Sports.
We can't get smoked by a Raiders fan, now can we? Wish us luck.
Our picks after the jump.
