The Broncos can't look past the Bears
Your Denver Broncos find themselves favorites at home against the Chicago Bears. They can't afford to take a win for granted with next week's clash with New England looming.
Reidy's latest column: Forgiving Jay Cutler
Resident Sports Columnist, John Reidy contributes to the A/V Club Denver/Boulder with his weekly piece titled "Jock Itch".
It's Bears week, so the current edition confronts Denver's strained relationship with quarterback, Jay Cutler. Here are some select quotations:
"Denver fans are now boning up on their potty talk to welcome another prodigal son back to the Mile High City"
"It’s too bad, because as the Tebow train keeps rolling, Cutler will be on the sidelines watching it pass him by."
"I think the time has come to forgive Jay Cutler. That’s right—in the spirit of the holiday season, let’s let bygones be bygones and give Jay Cutler a pass"
Forgive Jay Cutler? What is Reidy thinking? Read his entire column RIGHT HERE. Be sure and leave lots of nasty comments so that his editors know folks are clicking over.
Tebowmania is quickly becoming the new "Stairway to Heaven"
"And it's whispered that soon if we all call the tune
Then the piper will lead us to reason."
Led Zeppelin, Stairway to Heaven
Wednesday's one-hour ESPN "Tebow Center" added to the non-stop Tebowing both the four-letter Network and on NFL Network has turned Tebowmania into the new "Stairway to Heaven". It's over-played, over-hyped and quickly growing tiresome.
Reviewing our NFL week 13, Picks vs. the Spread
Entering week 13, Reidy held a narrow 2-game lead over Colin in the South Stands annual NFL Pickoff vs. the Spread. After week 13, his lead is 3 games. Reidy went an impressive 10-6 against the spread while Colin went 9-7. Both fellahs are now over .500 for the year, but Colin has some work to do if he doesn't wish to suffer the shame and embarrassment of losing to Reidy, despite his superior NFL knowledge. Fortunately for Colin, a three-game deficit can be recovered from in just one week.
Our NFL Week 13, Picks vs. the Spread
December has arrived and that means the competition is heating up in the National Football League. Playoff hopefuls look to pull away from the pack – much like Reidy looks to pull away from Colin in the South Stands’ annual NFL Pickoff vs. the Spread. It’s been a tight race all season long, with numerous lead changes along the way, the most recent being in week 12 when Reidy opened up a two game lead thanks to some deft selections. He leads the race 85-81-5 to 83-83-5.
Can Reidy pull ahead, leaving Colin in his rear-view mirror? Time will tell, you guys. Here are their selections for week 13.
Raider Rolando McClain's Perp-Walk Pic is Pretty Epic
Raiders linebacker Rolando McClain either did hold a gun to a man's temple and then fire it next to his ear or he didn't. Either way, you've got to give the guy props for his arrest photo. What, he worry? Have a nice night, South Standers.
Reidy, Colin both say "Seattle +3"
It's Thursday, you guys. That means we'll all be treated to a mid-week NFL treat as the Seattle Seahawks host the Philadelphia Eagles who are 3-point road favorites. Colin and John are both taking the Seahawks and the points in this one as thier annual NFL pickoff VS the spread continues.
Philly will be without Michael Vick, although it looks like McCoy is a go. Seattle is a tough place to play. Both teams enter this game at 4-7 and dangerously close to being eliminated from post-season contention. Enjoy the game.
It's hard to hate on Brandon Lloyd
Brandon Llloyd isn't a Bronco anymore so it's open season for haters. The only problem is that there isn't much to hate about him.

I never really liked sports until I had a religious conversion when the Broncos lost to the 49ers in that one Super Bowl. Now I'm obsessed with all aspects of the Denver pro sports world. Oh yeah, I hate college football. It's crap. Talk to me on twitter @johnreidydenverRecent items
